Summer is here!

The summer season can sometimes cause us to be a little less motivated and productive. This isn’t surprisng as the warmest season of the year brings so many outdoor activities and social time.  From a personal perspective, recognize that when others are taking it easy, doing great work can distinguish you. Do the planning for a fall project. It’s much easier when the pressure is off.  Perhaps you can use the summertime for professional development, such as formal training or reading up on the business or self-help best sellers. Most importantly though, take some time to recharge.  A vacation will do wonders for your energy level and your state of mind 🙂 Growing up on the west coast of British Columbia, I couldn’t imagine vacationing anywhere else. Everything I need is right here! The ocean, parks and mountains. This summer i’m going to take in a whale watching tour.. Happy summer everyone! 🙂

Love is a many splendored thing…

That feeling of being “in love”. A wonderful feeling for anyone who has ever experienced it. Love can make us feel like we can conquer anything in life, or level  us like we are a mountain crumbling into the ocean. Some people go on an endless quest their whole lives in search of true love. What exactly is true love though? Many of us think we feel it at first sight when two people see each other for the first time. This stage is actually called infatuation. We can’t stand to be apart even for a day, where two people could do nothing else but just stare into each others eyes all day. Then there comes the getting to know stage. We find out things about each other and what makes us tick, we then start planning our lives around each other. Then there is the familiar stage. Couples then finally know what makes the other click, even finishing each others sentences.. We all have  issues about ourselves, those little quirks about ourselves that probably drive the rest of the world crazy. When our significant other can look past those quirks and still say, this is the person i want to spend the rest of my life with, then in my opinion, you have true love 🙂 I’m writing this blog post in honour of two wonderful people who are getting married to each other soon. I wish you a lifetime of love, peace and happiness in your married life together my friends! 🙂

Feeling the blues….

Having the occasional case of the blues is perfectly normal. This however doesn’t make dealing with it any easier. Life is a roller coaster..when it comes to our emotions. Some days we feel as high as Mt. Everest, and other days we don’t even want to get out of bed in the morning..Most of the time though we are somewhere in between. I’ve mentioned before that surrounding yourself with positive people is key, but there are also some other helpful suggestions. For instance, reflect on any pass success you’ve had. When you’ve experienced failure on a grand scale, or are feeling a sense of utter hopelessness, it’s easy to forget everything you ever done right. This suggestion will help you build self-confidence, and help you generate some new ideas on what to try next for success in the future. A change of scenery is also helpful. When you get into a negative mood, you start to associate those feelings with everything around you. The last thing you want is your environment as a constant reminder of your problems. A solution may be cleaning up, adding some pleasant decorations, or more lights. This can completely change the mood of a room. Finally, interact with animals and nature. It’s funny how much humans put so much emphasis on their own little problems. Animals don’t think this way. Animals live in the present moment and show love unconditionally, therefore, observing and interacting with them will help tremendously. 🙂

If at first you don’t succeed…

Who says success comes easier for some and harder for others? There has been a myth going around for ages..The myth is that for some people, when they touch anything, it turns to gold..while for others, it turns to coal…not quite…Success is not measured by how much money you have (whether you were born into money or not, although at times it might help a bit), success in your life boils down to your frame of mind. Mindset is absolute key to any success in your life!  If you come across defeat, do not be discouraged, just keep trying again and again! 🙂

Make meditation a daily practice, and it will soon turn into a habit :)

Happy monday to all! Busy start off to the week, from the moment I awoke this morning until just before I begun to write this post! I spent a good part of the day researching online. A home-based business has its challenges, however, is so rewarding at the same time! Every day and everything is a learning experience! Sometimes I do experience information overload though! If anyone as experienced this phenomenon, they will know exactly what i’m talking about..Too many things, information, cluttering up our minds at the same time. Four years ago, I was introduced to meditation from a friend of mine. Orginally, it was brought up to me in helping me conquer my habit of smoking. It did the trick! It will be four years in August when i quit 🙂 I really started to embrace the practice of meditation after awhile, as I found it is also helpful for de-stressing and relaxation. Everyday I take about 30-40 minutes to myself and just breathe..Take some time for yourself listening to some very soothing music ( nature sounds are my favourite!) and breathe!

Laughter is the best medicine…

Hello again everyone and welcome to the weekend! Time to relax, maybe bbq, go the beach, or even read a book. If work is in your schedule for the weekend, make sure to incorporate some fun into it! The old adage, laughter is the best medicine. Almost everyone has heard of it, correct? Well it is true! For most of us, life can take a stressful toll day to day..We don’t make time for ourselves to rejuvenate. We are ALL guilty of that at one point or another! Nothing releases tension better than a good hearty laugh! It brings greater happiness, even boosts our immunity! A good internal workout is derived from a belly laugh, and also gives the heart a good workout too 🙂
